Format 1. LearningMethods Online
TM
— On-going Distance Learning
The first three of these LearningMethods
Online distance learning groups have been up and running
for a while now.
There has been such a lot of interest from
others wanting to join that I am opening up several
new training groups to start as soon as possible
(probably January 2012).
Each group will be small to allow for in-depth work (between 3-6 people). To join
a group, contact me at
New group 1: In-depth online group in "Anatomy of Wholeness" opening in January
2012. There are some spaces left so if you are interested in joining, there are
more details here.
New group 2:
There is also interest in a Professional Level group for
Performers and Performance Teachers. If you are interested in joining us, there are
more details here.
Who is it for?
The distance learning module is for those
who live far from the LearningMethods Centre in Toronto and
so cannot make it to regular in-person classes. This program
can be combined with the LearningMethods Intensive program (periodic
intensive in-person workshops). It is also available for those
who live locally but who travel often.
What is it and how does it work?
LearningMethods Online uses online tools
to deliver a rich interactive learning experience made up of:
— live video and audio conference
call sessions of about 2+ hours each week via WebEx
(a private virtual network account with simultaneous live
video and audio all handled through your broadband Internet,
i.e. no phone-ins). The system also provides a live whiteboard function
for drawing diagrams, picture and file display, streaming of audio and video files, as
well as the ability to record the sessions for our
archives.
— a dedicated (private) group
e-mail discussion list for questions, discussion
and sharing ideas,
— a dedicated password-protected
web site for each group where all the recordings
of that group's live sessions, podcasts, webinars, e-mail
discussions and resources are archived and available for
download and study,
— the web site also hosts a
range
of resources by David Gorman, other LearningMethods teachers,
and other people. These resources include relevant articles,
scientific papers, audio and video recordings,
etc.,
— periodic audio (and eventually
video) podcasts to the group by David Gorman (and
other teachers) on relevant topics. These are
also archived for download and often transcribed into text,
— a growing library of hundreds of previously-recorded
LearningMethods and Anatomy of Wholeness workshops
and classes on a wide range of topics available
for streaming or download,
— option to attend
in-person extensive
training sessions and intensive workshops.
— and coming in the future, webinars
(i.e. online seminars and courses) available for
self-paced study so you can step through learning on territories
like our human structure and function (Anatomy of Wholeness),
balance and support (Standing on Top of the World), working
with performers and performance teachers (Liberating Performers),
and other areas.
Three training groups have already started this
distance learning module and others will follow shortly. If
you are interested in joining one of these new groups,
you'll find more
practical information here about structure, scheduling,
fees, etc. or contact
me at and ask me questions about any aspect of the program.
